The first certain information about Orosei’s town dates back to the Middle Ages, even if, the origin of the first housing cluster, concern to the Nuragic and Roman times, about which you can find many documents in the area.
The town preserved very well its historical old centre, characterized by small stone and white lime buildings overlooking pretty courtyards, many churches, arches and lush little squares.
The heart of the old town is the district of Palathos Vetzos, (“old palaces”) the ancient seat of the Curia Regni, dating from the Judicial Age, around which you can discover old traditional houses and a series of noble palaces of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
